Changes are taking place in Port Huron, and at the local college, as SC-4 has a new president at the helm. Dr. Deborah Snyder was hired by the college as interim president recently, as Dr. Kevin Pollack is moving on to another position out of state. Besides having several qualifications, she also is an alumni of the school. She spoke recently on the Paul Miller morning show. Looking ahead, there are some challenges facing the college, says Snyder, including securing a new teachers contract. As for the pavilion deal, Snyder says she has fond memories having attended school here, but things change and she’s going to make sure that this is a change for the better. To the extent the college can work with Silver Stick, they will. However, keeping ice at the pavilion was just economically impossible.
