Justin Upton hit a three run home run in the top of the 11th inning to propel the Detroit Tigers to a 5-3 win over the White Sox in Chicago on Monday. Miguel Cabrera had four hits, including two solo home runs, making him only the fourth player in Tigers history to hit 300 home runs for the franchise. Al Kaline, Norm Cash, and Hank Greenberg are the only men to hit more homers in a Tigers uniform. Game two of the series is set for Tuesday.
