Tigers Lose Wild Game 13-11 In 13

The Detroit Tigers lost 13-11 in 13 innings on Tuesday to the Baltimore Orioles.  JD Martinez hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and drove in five runs for the Tigers, who also got a home run and three RBI from Victor Martinez.  The Orioles scored seven runs in the third to take a 7-1 lead, only to the see the Tigers go in front 8-7 on Martinez’s grand slam in the seventh.  Justin Wilson was one out from a save, but surrendered a game tying home run to Mark Trumbo in the ninth, forcing the game into extra innings.  Baltimore took an 11-8 lead with three runs in the top of the 12th, but Detroit retied the game on RBI singles from Ian Kinsler, Miguel Cabrera, and Alex Avila.  Baltimore went ahead to stay in the 13th, when Chris Davis blasted a two run home run off Francisco Rodriguez.  Davis finished with two home runs and four RBI.  Game two of a three game series is set for Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
