Non-profit to take ownership of Baker campus

The new year will bring new owners to the Baker College campus on Lapeer Road in Port Huron Township. The Blue Water Community Action Agency has announced their intention to purchase the parcel, Executive Director Melinda Johnson says there are three buildings on the Baker campus. One of them will serve as headquarters for the non profit. Another will be utilized by Community Mental Health and the third will serve as classroom space. Blue Water Community Action focus on programs to help low income families with education, nutrition, and health. Johnson says they hope to close on the building in the first quarter of 2018 and open their new head start classrooms by Fall of 2018.
