The Detroit Lions fired head coach Jim Caldwell on Monday, one day after finishing (9-7) but missing the playoffs. Caldwell posted a (36-28) record over four years in Detroit, posting winning seasons in three of four years, and making the playoffs twice. The Lions, however, did not win a post season game, and never placed better than second in their division. No replacement has been named.
