AAA of Michigan and law enforcement officials across the state are urging drivers to make their St. Patrick’s Day a safe one. Nearly 6% of car crashes in Michigan were alcohol-related on St. Patrick’s Day weekend last year and 14% of total traffic fatalities in Michigan during that time last year were alcohol related. AAA urges drivers who will celebrate this weekend to designate a drug and alcohol free driver and, if you’re hosting a party, be a responsible host by providing non-alcoholic beverages for designated drivers.
