Come this fall semester, up to 80 St. Clair County Community College Students will be living in Downtown Port Huron at a new student housing building called “The Dock”. The building is the former home of the Main Street Lodge and has undergone $3.5 million dollars in investments by SC4 over the past year. Pete Lacey, vice president of Student Services for the college, says student housing for SC4 has been in the works for over 20 years.  Amenities include air conditioning, wi-fi, private bathrooms, and a shared kitchen and common space. SC4 has also partnered with a company to provide off campus dining options to their students. Through a company called Elevate, students will have access to several downtown restaurants that have partnered with the college to offer discounted meals that can be bought by swiping a student’s meal card. Move in for “The Dock” will start August 15 and costs $2,250-dollars per semester per student. A public open house will be held on August 3rd.
