A new bar and restaurant in Downtown Port Huron opens today. It’s called Wings Etc. and is located in the 300 block of Quay Street in Port Huron – the site of the former Thumb Coast and Quay Street Brewing Companies. The sports-bar features many large screen TV’s, dozens of taps, two bars, and a patio which overlooks the Black River. Owner Gene Harrison and his son, Robert Harrison, brought the franchise wing eatery to the local area. There a total of 62 Wings Etc.  franchises in the county, mostly located in the Midwest. The Harrison’s own several locations in northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. Robert Harrison, speaking to WPHM at a preview on Monday, says they also plan to make use of some of the micro-brew equipment in the building in the coming months.  He says the Port Huron location would be a “brew pub” which would make it’s own beer while still offering customers a selection of other craft beers and domestics. A soft opening of the Port Huron location will be held today, with a grand opening expected to be held next month.
