Authorities searching for fake DNR agent

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s department is searching for a man who posed as an off duty DNR Officer and stole a Port Huron man’s hunting equipment. The victim was traveling through Argyle on M-19 when a man in a white late-model pickup truck followed him as he turned onto Spencer Road. The suspect activated blue strobe lights on the vehicle and pulled over the Port Huron man. The suspect claimed a decoy deer that was in the back of the victim’s vehicle was illegal and confiscated it, as well as other hunting related items. The suspect is believed to be a white man in his mid-to-late 50s. He is described as having short light brown hair, a thin mustache, and a large tattoo of an Eagle on his left forearm. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to please call Deputy James Leen at 810-648-2000 extension 2.
