Sanilac County Sheriff promotes deputy

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s office has promoted a long time deputy to the position of Lieutenant. According to Sheriff Garry Biniecki, Sergeant Nathan Smith has been promoted to the position of Uniform Services Lieutenant. Smith is a graduate of Imlay City High School and Ferris State University and joined the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department in 2000. He has served on the Sanilac County Drug Task Force and Special Response Teams, and currently overseas the Sanilac County Detective Bureau. Sheriff Biniecki stated, “I am very pleased with his promotion and with his history of dedicated service, I am confident that his skills and abilities will only serve to assist us in moving forward in our pledge to serve the public”.
