A St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputy is the recipient of an award for saving the life of a 70 year old woman. Earlier this week, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputy Stacie Miller received the award for her actions during a May 9th house fire in Fort Gratiot Township. A 70 year old handicapped woman was inside the home and was rescued by Deputy Miller who was able to evacuate her from the house. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says without Deputy Miller’s fast response, the woman likely would have died in the fire. Miller was assisted by a Burthchville Township firefighter and Tri-Hospital EMS and was presented with the award at a ceremony Monday night.
