House damaged in early morning fire

Port Huron fire crews were called to a house fire early this morning. According to Port Huron Fire Department Battalion Chief James Hayes, the fire occurred around 1am this morning at a residence in the 1500 block of Union Street. The home was occupied by four people at the time of the fire and all were able to escape without injuries. When firefighters arrived, Hayes says both the attic and exterior of the house were in flames. Investigations into the house fire continue.
