Tenth District Congressman Paul Mitchell has told a Washington DC news outlet that he will not run for re-election in 2020. According to a report in POLITICO this morning, Mitchell stated his frustration with congress as reason for the decision. Mitchell, a Republican from Lapeer County’s Dryden Township, was first elected into office in 2016 and was re-elected to a second term last year. Michigan’s 10th congressional district includes portions of Macomb County and all of St. Clair, Lapeer, Sanilac, Tuscola, and Huron counties. A representative from the congressman’s office has confirmed to WPHM that Mitchell will not seek another term.
