Voting continues on the UAW tentative deal with General Motors as workers remain on the picket lines. Automotive News reports that 59% of the line workers and 77% of the skilled trades have approved the deal. However, most of the major plants, including Flint, have not yet posted results. In what is considered a blow to the deal, workers at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee narrowly voted down the contract. Union workers at plants slated to close would like to see the contract voted down, telling fellow members if GM can close their plants, it can close down others, too.
