It’s the first Friday of 2020 and long-time Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley hopes one of your new year’s resolutions is to visit our neighbors across the bridge more often. Bradley, speaking to WPHM, says tonight would be a good night to visit. “Every first Friday of the month, there’s probably 10-20,000 people downtown,” said Bradley. He adds that stores, restaurants, and the theater all have special events and activities every first Friday.   “The first Friday of the month everybody’s welcome to come over, and it’s free.” Bradley says the exchange rate is especially favorable for American visitors, with the Canadian dollar currently costing only about 70 US cents.

Many of us use the term ‘Chemical Valley’ to describe the area south of Sarnia on the east shore of the St. Clair River. Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says there’s a lot more going on than just petrol-chemical production. Speaking to WPHM last week, Bradley says Sarnia is known for a lot more than just oil refining these days. “I’ve seen the economy transform… back 20-30 years ago it was just petrol-chemicals, and now we’re the bio innovation center of Canada.” 2020 marks the 32nd year that Mike Bradley has served as Mayor of Sarnia. He has three years left on his term, with Bradley saying he hasn’t decided whether or not he will seek another term in office.
