Suspect to face charges resulting from weekend police chase

A 21 year old Port Huron man is expect to face charges following a short police chase early Saturday morning. Port Huron Police tell WPHM the incident happened on Union Street around 3am Saturday morning. Lieutenant Jeremy Young says the suspect is accused of driving the wrong way on Union Street when an officer attempted to pull him over. The suspect fled from the officer. The suspect’s vehicle was found crashed a few minutes later near 17th and Francis Street. The suspect is believed to have ran from the wrecked car. He was located on Sunday and was taken in to custody. Young says he is expected to face charges including fleeing and eluding and failure to stop after a crash. He is currently being housed in the St. Clair County jail and is expected to be arraigned today.
