Local COVID-19 cases now exceed 100

The number of Blue Water Area people diagnosed with COVID-19 is now in triple digits. According to the latest data from state and local authorities, there are 114 confirmed cases of the virus in St. Clair County. The St. Clair County Health Department says 33 of those individuals have recovered. Three St. Clair County Residents have died of the disease. There are 14 positive cases and 2 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Sanilac County. Lapeer County has 49 cases and no deaths. Dr. Annette Mercatante, St. Clair County Medical  Health Officer, says it is recommended that everyone should wear a cloth face mask in public. The recommendation is only for homemade masks, with Mercatante saying surgical masks and N-95 respirators should still be left for first responders and healthcare workers.
