A new executive order from Governor Whitmer will help struggling bars and restaurants by allowing the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to start buying back liquor to relieve their financial burden. The commission’s revolving fund enables them to buy back spirits at full price that were purchased prior to March 16. Liquor licensees will have up to 90 days after the state’s emergency declarations are lifted to re-purchase the spirits. Licensees must make their request no later than Friday, April 17, 2020, at 5 p.m., using the online form on the MLCC website.
