City to correct water billing error

The City of Port Huron is working to correct an error that resulted in about a third of the city’s residents getting an incorrect water bill. According to a statement from the office of City Manager James Freed, many residents received incorrect bills with old information. The bills used the previous billing period’s water usage instead of the current billing period. Corrected water bills will be mailed out starting Monday. Freed adds that balances will be adjusted accordingly for residents who have already sent in payment for the incorrect bill.
