Another annual tradition in the Blue Water Area has been called off due to the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers of St. Clair River Classic offshore powerboat races have decided to postpone the event until next year. The races, which coincide with the St. Clair Riverfest, were scheduled for July 23rd through 26th. “This difficult decision follows guidance for management of health and safety at large outdoor events from the CDC, Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services and MI Safe Start Plan,” said Bob Currier, race control director. The 27th running of the St. Clair River Classic Offshore Race is now scheduled for July 22nd through 25th, 2021.
